Our Story

Doc's Eco Camp was created by 'Doc', a heart surgeon in 2025 in his third year of his round the world ride . He is still on the road when time, his wife and budget allows

 â€‹

From Kenya, he wanted to build a renewable energy based eco-camp using sustainable construction in a secure compound where overland travellers can enjoy peace, refuge, hot showers, cold beers, world-class coffee, top-end WiFi & good wholesome food . A place where cars, motorbikes and trucks can be repaired and travellers can rejuvenate with a solid night's sleep.

Doc's Eco Camp works on community enterprise supporting the local Masai.  The camp empowers women, provides a safe-house for those suffering gender-based violence, engages in permaculture to supply its own kitchen, funds feeding of school children in the slums and teaches young girls to make reusable sanitary pads.
